Wine Storage Temperatures?

Wine storage,What is a good temperature for long term storage of multiple wine types (both red and white in the same fridge)? I currently have it set at 55*F, but I feel like that may be too low.

    Typical temperature for storing red wine ranges from 52ºF – 65ºF, and 45ºF- 50ºF for white wines.
