Wine cooling,I currently own a Grand Cru 4200 Cooling System (Black) (Max Room Size = 1000 Cu Ft) which I purchased from Wine Enthusiast. I am very disapointed in how long it runs and how loud it is. Any better suggestions out there for a quieter one?

Your answer depends on how much you want to spend and how your wine cellar is set up. If you need a cooling unit that is installed into the cellar and vents into the cellar, your options are pretty limited. I would probably suggest a WhisperKool. Although I believe them to be a better product, they still will make noise, albeit not as much as the Cru.

If you have more flexibility in your setup, you could try a remotely mounted unit that would circulate air through the wine cellar without actually being mounted in the cellar. The unit is a Climatech. The other solution may be a ductless split system that is also remotely mounted.

Before you go off and buy another, allow me to ask a couple of questions if I may? 1 Is the room insulated and sealed? 2 Have you insulated around the unit? 3 Does the unit vent straight out into an open space or against a wall? 4 Is the unit level? Exactly how large is the dimensions of the wine cellar, eg height, width and length? If everything is up to specs, then go back to them and demand a quieter unit or a refund.
