Wine storage,I just had a 19 foot bar installed in a converted garage at home and I am at a loss as to what to put behind it. I have the obligatory mirror but don’t want a flat-screen or anything like that. I want your suggestions as to what you would put up for storage or decoration (or whatever for that matter). I am open to anything from decorating ideas to wine storage – whatever. The winner should come up and have a drink sometime.

Start a collage of your visitors and parties/events that will start happening in your new bar area. Photograph and print out everyone and put them on a cork-board on the wall. Put up some butcher block white or brown paper on the walls and let everyone write something or draw something on the paper like some local bars do. Change the paper once in a while. Keep it for a bit to see if anyone wants to take a piece home. Hit some resale shops and see if you can find 2-3 neon signs to hang up. Put a shelf (at least one) back there and let your buds keep their personalized beer mugs back there at your beck and call.

Cooler under the backbar, wet sink, covered ice bin (ice can be dumped into, lid lifts to get cubes and drain tube for melting), mood lighting, 21" tv.
Keep mirrors minimal.

It depends what u want the bar 2 look like.
If u want it quite modern, keep spirits on display, especially if u can ‘display’ them. Get pens that can write on glass. It’s one of the first things ur taught if u work in a large pub group. Change the writing/pictures every now n then. I’ve seen one pub where they put a tv up at the end of the bar, but it was a karaoke screen!!!!!!! A simple twist on a rather common practice!!!! That way tho, he had the ‘regular’ item, but in a unique fashion!
I’ve been thinkin of converting my garage into a bar, n one of the first things I’m gonna do if I manage it is set up a theme. I know it sounds cheesy, but if it’s ur own bar why not put a bit of u in2 it?
Think about ur hobbies, likes etc. e.g if u like movies have film memorabilia, or sports items if u like that type of thing!
Oh, n mayb a barmaid or 2!!!!!!!
