Before her time wine glasses were modeled to the apple like breasts of Diane de Poitiers and legend has it that Marie-Antoinette thought it only appropriate to have her large breasts put to good use and help her indulge her love of champagne. It’s believed that the buxom deep champagne glassware was modeled off of Marie-Antoinette’s breasts.
It wasn’t an occasion per se. Marie Antoinette had a fine figure and she likes to have serving ware made from her anatomy. The champagne glass is one such example. There is even an "original mold" preserved at a museum of France, which is the basis of all coupe glasses. But there isn’t any occasion where girls wore wine glasses or drinking ware on their breasts.
