Wine storage,It is for a wedding a month away, we do not have a wine cellar or storage space. We would have waited but the wine we wanted was on sale this week. would keeping it in a basement be good enough or should we store it somewhere cooler. The weather for the next couple of days is 80′s and humid.

Your wine should be fine in the basement for a month. Store it on its side to keep the corks moist and leave the bottles in their original cartons. That will assist in minimizing temperature fluctuations. Throw a blanket over the piled cartons to keep out the light.
Enjoy the wedding!

It depends on how cool the basement is. If it gets into the 80s there, it would not be appropriate. If it stays in the low 70s or less it’s okay. In a pinch, get some disposable coolers and store the wine on ice, or make space in the fridge.

The basement is a good place in a pinch. Find the coolest darkest corner. I don’t think you want to ice it in a cooler cuz that would constantly be changing the temp of your wine. You don’t want to store in a room that get’s over 80 either. So back to a cool dark corner that maintains a consistent temp.
Have a great wedding party!

It’ll be fine for a month. Very few liquor stores have air conditioning in their storage rooms and they keep bottles there for months at a time.
And the humidity doesn’t matter when it comes to glass bottles.

All that’s really needed, is to keep it out of direct sunlight, away from any heat source and keep it either upside down or on its side. As long as the cork is wet and it hasn’t been exposed to light/heat, you’ll be fine.

The basement will be fine as long as the temp is cool with very little changes. Wine does not do well if there are extreme temp changes (hot or cold) or exposures to direct sunlight. So as long as you have both those covered it will be fine.

It is best to store then in a wine refrigerator.
