Most unsophisticated wine drinkers (not wine snobs) like white Zinfandel, because it has a light, fruity taste and it’s kind of sweet. This is good for people who are put off by the bitterness (from the tannins) of a red, and the sour tanginess of a white.
Any wine can be made into a wine cooler by combining about 1 part wine to 2 parts clear fruit-flavored soda (like 7-Up or Sprite). I actually really like the taste of a red wine cooler made with diet Squirt. The citrus taste of the Squirt makes the wine taste like a light Sangria.
I like Arbor Mist, it’s really really good! They are my favorites!
Also, white zinfandel is really good. (Except I did have a white zinfandel at Carinos the other night and it was really strong, it tasted like they added a shot of vodka in there.)
Coolers are for girls and teenagers that probably shouldn’t drink anyway.
Try some Pasek Cellars Cranberry or some Sky River Mead.
Hoodsport makes a nice loganberry and a dry rhubarb.

Wine coolers are party drinks, and not a substitute for wine with a meal. Pinot Noir or Beajolais are lighter reds that are very good……

Dessert wines are so tasty. If you’re new to wine drinking, sweet wines are sometimes a good place to start.
A dessert wine is a wine that has a higher sugar content (called residual sugar) than normal table wines.
Ice Wines are a fun treat, but costly. Ice wines are just that…picked on the vine when iced over.
My favorite is Muscat.
Here is a guide for you:

I am not a wine drinker- but there is Moscato’s – I have found some very reasonably priced at Meijers
