Probably nothing. There might be a few Grand Reserve Riojas that are still drinkable, but they are way past their prime. Incidentally, before the existence of more stringent regulations imposed by the European Economic Union, the Spanish had a rather free attitude regarding vintage dates. They interpreted the number to mean "this wine is of the QUALITY of the wines of the year printed". Of course, many producers always considered their own wines to be as good as the best vintage within memory every single time! I remember seeing the year "1959" on Spanish wines well into the ’70′s . None of them was more than two years old. 1953 and 1955 were also popular, even though the wines were twenty years younger. So the wine you have might not actually be from the 50′s. I’m sorry if this info disappoints you. Then again, you never know what’s inside until you pull the cork. Wine salvaged from ancient Roman shipwrecks were found to be still drinkable.

Probably nothing. I can’t see why anyone would buy it, other than for the bottle or as decoration. The wine itself probably never was particularly good and would certainly have lost its fruit and tannins leaving not much to enjoy even if it has not spoiled. So, maybe someone would pay $20 as a collectors item, but nothing for the wine to drink.

My wine consultant is not up on values, especially when you only have a decade, but she suggests you find a wine appraiser. If you can’t search that on the internet, then contact the wine club, society in your area. Good luck.

Empty the bottle–probably pretty good vinegar–sell the bottle.
