They would be fine and no, most restaurants do not use crystal as it would be too expensive and easy to break. Besides, most people won’t be paying attention to the glasses once they start drinking. I use crystal only when I have 8-10 guests. Otherwise, I use ordinary glasses so that if people get hyper and drop them I won’t care.

only reallly fine dining establishments would possibly use crystal. it’s so expensive. i would think they just use really nice glass ones.
i use glass ones from several different stores, from the dollar tree to jc pennys and btwn.
you would have to be quite a snob to turn a nose to wine just bcse it’s not in a crystal glass.

They’re absolutely fine.
You’re not having the president to dinner, are you?

Depends on whether you need to impress your guests. As far as I’m concerned, Macy’s glasses beat drinking from the bottle, or from jelly jars. Fine restaurants do use crystal, of course.

If your guest are wine drinkers (know about wine, not just drink a lot of wine…) then you have to serve the wine in crystal glasses.
Crystal glasses make a big difference over glass. They are usually thinner and are cut cold (versus hot cut) which give the glass a sharp edge versus a curled edge. It sounds snobbish but it really impacts the way the wine tastes and smells. Another thing is the shape of te glass but that makes for a whole new discussion
It is said that a good wine glass makes a wine taste more expensive since it is as it lets the wine express itself to its fullest. Therefore a good investment is in the glasses.
Again, if your guest just drink a lot of wine but dont really appreciate it, then you are probably OK with the glasses you have.
I always use crystal even when its my wife and I alone. It just makes the table and the wine look and taste better. Sure they break easier but its worth the effort.
Cheers.

If your guests are friends…they won’t care what you serve the wine in. The important thing is just getting together…you don’t have to impress people, just be comfortable with yourself and your choices. Have fun!

who cares. any real connoisseur samples the wine, not the glass. As long as its not plastic, you’re a-ok.
