Wine cooling,I just found out last month (April) that I’m pregnant because I missed my period. I was given a Smirnoff wine cooler the other day and I’m wondering if it would hurt anything to drink it?

Some people argue that one drink will not do harm, but to them I answer "why risk it?"
The wine cooler will still be there in 8 months time when that baby is out, why not just put it aside until then.
Yes it is true that one drink will more then likely do nothing, but there is no evidence of how much you have to drink before doing damage. So why not just stay away from alcohol all together. That way you will 100percent avoid the risk of your child having FAS, and should something be wrong with your baby you will know that it had nothing to do with anything you did wrong.
I say put it aside as an end of pregnancy treat. Or else if it is tempting you too much give it to your partner or a friend and when the baby is done cooking you can go and buy another one.
Good luck with your pregnancy
EDIT: Also im pretty sure that even people who support your right to have one drink usually think alcohol should be avoided in the first trimester. If you do choose to have a drink, do not do it in these early weeks.
Its definatly best to avoid during your whole pregnancy. One drink can sometimes lead to two, once a week can lead to twice a week etc etc. Might as well just stick with the rule to have none so you do not have to face that sort of temptation.

If you want to care for your unborn child you will not take, in any amount, alcohol or drugs not prescribed by a doctor who is aware of your condition. Anything coursing through your blood directly affects the development and health of an unborn baby.

When I found out I was pregnant with my son, I had just drank wine coolers just a few days earlier. I mentioned it to my doctor and he told me that a drink or two would not hurt anything, but why risk it? Everything that goes through you also goes through baby so it’s always best to be on the safe side. Good luck to you in your pregnancy.
P.S when I was 31 weeks with my son, I downed almost an entire glass of mimosa baecause I thought it was orange juice at an art gallery and I was just extremely thirsty…. Wasn’t until after I swallowed most of it that I realized there was alcohol in it..
