For boutique winemakers, getting your product into the hands of the public is a formidable task. The costs of owning and operating your own Tasting Room is prohibitive for most and, the winemakers and marketing teams (usually consisting of wives, husbands, siblings, etc.) are forever inventing new ways to bring their wine to the marketplace. Family Wineries Dry Creek Valley was born of one such creative and clever idea!Here, six local winemaking family’s have joined together to share the operational costs, the marketing efforts and the joy of sharing their passion with others, and they’re also sharing great success! With one man’s vision, Family Wineries became the first and only cooperative tasting room in the Dry Creek Valley with six locally and family-owned wineries. Participating wineries include Collier Falls Vineyards, Dashe Cellars, Forth Vineyards, Lago di Merlo Winery and Vineyards, Mietz Cellars and Philip Staley …more than 20 varietal and blend wines from Sonoma County are available for tasting seven days a week. This is a Win/Win situation. For the wine enthusiasts, you get to taste six different approaches to similar varietals or blends and see firsthand how the winemakers uniques characteristics present themselves’ in the bottle.
