You don’t want to buy a regular refrigerator. It is not the same. Regular refrigerators are colder than recommended for storing wine and have lower humidity that will dry the corks and cause wine evaporation.

Wine cellars are an important investment for the serious wine collector. Ideal temperatures for storing wine are between 50-55 degrees F with humidity at 70 degrees or slightly higher. The higher humidity helps keep the corks moist and reduces evaporation of the wine.

If you want a wine refrigerator for under $200 you will need to look for a used one. There is one by Haier (new) that holds 30 bottles and sells for $229.99: http://www.cheers2wine.com/wine-cellars.html

For that price your best bet is to go to auctions or look at used ones. There is not really a cooler that will hold 30 bottles for around $200 that is worth it.

Check craigslist. Many people sell them when they remodel kitchens or move. I see a couple on the SF Bay area list for less than $100. Costco also carries one that is pretty inexpensive.

I just bought a Fridgidare wine cooler that holds 33 bottles, for slightly under $200., at Lowes home improvement store. It works really well, has a glass door, is good looking, adds to the house decor.

just wine? sears has a kenmore that looks nice (25 bottles)
danby 35 bottle one for about that price too

I would recommend considering a full-fledged fridge, you can get one for a close price that would be much more versitile, any odd bottles, cans, and even a freezer for other treats you might have with your wine.
