    Obviously the other side is also at 45 deg wrt the ground, so we have symmetry. Each surface contributes a vertical force equal to mg/2. Since the total force at each surface is at 45 deg, its magnitude is sqrt(2)*the vertical force or mg/sqrt(2) = 1.4*9.81/sqrt(2) = 9.7114 N.
