Wine storage,I’m not a wine person, but received a bottle as a gift. I went on-line and did a little research. What I could find was that people are drinking older vintages of this wine now.
I DO NOT have idea wine storage conditions. I live in an upstairs apartment that gets very warm in the summer and really don’t have any place to store the wine (except in my desk at work).
I’d appreciate suggestions from oenophiles (if you have to ask what that means, you shouldn’t be answering this question), as to when would be the best time to open this wine.
Thanks for any valid help you can offer.

This is a very good chard- expensive, too. If you feel comfortable storing at work where temperatures are relatively stable, I’d keep it for a year or two. If you think it might disappear from your desk drawer, go ahead and drink it now. Be advised, though- if you develope a taste for the good stuff, you’ll be hard pressed to drink plonk again. Salud!

The wine should be very drinkable right now. Ideally, it would be nice if you could wait 2 years but since you don’t have optimum storage conditions…
You could probably store it in the fridge for 6 months or the drawer at work for a year.
Far Niente makes an excellent product. I’d drink it anytime within the next year!

Just drink it before the weather heats up too much.
Or, better yet, take it to a restaurant that serves killer seafood (and allows customers to bring their own hooch) and have it with dinner. I just saved you at least $75.00!!! You’re welcome.
